CultureCraft is facilitating a series of 4 day masterclasses with leading international artists Bettina Speckner, David Clarke, and Soojin Kang, with skills across varied craft disciplines.
Masterclasses are free to take part in as part of the City of Culture Legacy Programme.
Week One Masterclass: Objects Reloaded →
Bettina Speckner, 5–8 August 2014
In the workshop "Objects Reloaded" we will make jewellery pieces with the starting point in an individual found object. Throughout history jewellery has been made from found objects, the very starting point of jewellery, the oldest found piece, was made from shells found in nature.

Week Three Masterclass: Thread and Fabric →
Soojin Kang, 19–22 August 2014
Soojin Kang invites people to share in her unique approach to create textile sculptures from a chosen object, to change its identity as well as find pleasure in the process of stitching.
Places will be provided on a lottery if over-subscribed. Lunch will be provided each day. If you are chosen to take part you will responsible for your own travel and accommodation. You can find accommodation through the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.
